We at BostonPatriot.com congratulate the Boston Red Sox and all of Greater Boston for winning the 2007 Baseball World Series! It was an astounding 4 game sweep of the Colorado Rockies and 4-3 win that propelled this 2007 team into Boston sports history.
Red Sox madness returned to Boston this October just as Summer temperatures were finally driven away by the swing of the Red Sox bats. We have had all the makings of another memorable World Series drive. The AL Championship Series was a seven game series reminiscent of the excitement of the 2004 ALCS against the much hated Yankees. Though, this time without the bloody sock.
And the relatively young Major League franchise of the Colorado Rockies (established in 1993) found little love at Fenway. Game one’s 13-1 victory over the Rockies was certainly uplifting for fans eager to see another World Series Championship come back to Boston. And game two faired no better for the Rockies with Schilling on the mound. The rockies even found the air a bit too thin in their own stadium back in Denver. Losing the next two home games to finally lose the series in four games.
Red Sox nation no longer beleaguered by the lingering curse of the Bambino, now need only restrain their new found confidence long enough to ward off comparisons to the hated indomitable Yankees of old.
At some point in the coming days we will have to start thinking about Boston’s other sports teams for pleasant distraction. And despite what the almanac says about the weather, it certainly seems like we will have plenty of good sports stories to keep us warm this coming Winter. But for now, we celebrate a well won victory!
